Frequently Asked Questions

What material is this Ø 150 mm K60 corundum grinding wheel used for?

Corundum (Al₂O₃) grinding wheels are for unalloyed steel, S235/S355 structural steels, HSS tool steels, iron, brass. The K60 is suitable for sharpening HSS lathe tools, drills, chisels, and tools with moderately worn edges. Do not use on tungsten carbide (HM) — corundum does not effectively work carbide and wears out quickly. For HM, use only SDC diamond or CBN grinding wheels.

Is this grinding wheel compatible with my bench grinder?

Check the outer diameter (150 mm), thickness, and bore hole before purchasing — they must exactly match the machine's specifications. Also check the maximum peripheral speed of the grinding wheel (indicated in m/s) against the machine's spindle speed. Never mount a grinding wheel with a maximum speed lower than the machine's operating speed. Customer support available in Italian.

How do you dress a corundum grinding wheel when it gets clogged?

With a diamond-tipped dresser (single-point dresser): place the dresser on the machine's rest, slowly bring it close to the rotating wheel, and slide the diamond across the wheel's face with light pressure. Dressing exposes new abrasive grains and removes clogged bond. Repeat whenever the wheel loses efficiency or vibrates during use.
