CM 4 quick-change tapping chucks — what are they used for compared to hand taps?
Quick-change tapping chucks (M12 - M24) with overload safety clutch allow tapping on pillar drills and core drilling machines with manual feed, maintaining synchronisation between feed and rotation. The safety clutch protects the tap from breaking when the torque exceeds the set value. Quick change allows the tap to be replaced in 10 seconds between tapping operations without disassembling the chuck.
Is this set compatible with my Bernardo pillar drill?
Check the Morse taper of your drill's spindle (CM 4) — it must match the tap holder's connection. The CM 4 series is for lathes and drills with Morse taper 4; the CM 5 for Morse taper 5. Customer support in Italian available.
