Who uses the MTR 1360 × 6 NCC and for what
The Bernardo MTR 1360 × 6 NCC is a motorized guillotine shear with pneumatic sheet support (MTR series) for industrial sheet metal cutting in continuous production. With 31 strokes/min over 1360 mm length and a motorized NC backgauge, it is sized for cutting centers, sheet metal fabricators, and metal structure manufacturers who work with sheet metal in series with consistent quality and repeatability. The MTR series adds pneumatic sheet support: pneumatic pins lift the sheet from the table during positioning, reducing friction and allowing heavy sheets to be moved with less effort—crucial for lengths over 2,000 mm or thick sheets. In Krollit customers' workshops, it is used by sheet metal cutting centers, metal roofing manufacturers, and sheet metal component producers.
Who the Bernardo MTR 1360 × 6 NCC is for
| Profile | Compatibility | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Hobbyist / light artisan | Not suitable | Industrial shear weighing 2350 kg with NC control. Not suitable for non-professional use. |
| Cutting center / sheet metal fabricator | Ideal | 1360 mm × 6 mm, 31 cpm, NC backgauge: for continuous production with industrial quality and repeatability. |
| High-volume industrial production | Ideal | The motorized NC backgauge and 31 strokes/min ensure the productivity needed for high cutting volumes. |
Not suitable for: sheets thicker than 6 mm; low-volume artisanal use (manual PTS or HSG shears are much cheaper); installations without adequate space for 2350 kg and 2100 mm length.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between MTE and MTR series?
Both have a motorized NC backgauge, the same number of strokes (31/min), and similar structure. The MTR adds pneumatic sheet support: pins that lift the sheet during positioning, reducing friction, which is crucial for long (over 2,000 mm) or heavy sheets. The MTE does not have this support – the sheet slides directly on the table. For standard production of light sheets, the MTE is sufficient; for heavy sheets or large formats, the MTR significantly eases the operator's work.
What is the maximum thickness for stainless steel?
The nominal thickness of 6 mm refers to S235 steel (400 N/mm²). For AISI 304 stainless steel (600 N/mm²), the capacity is reduced by 30–40% (approximately 3.9 mm). Always check with Krollit for specific high-strength materials.
Are the blades reversible?
Yes. The shear blades have 4 cutting edges: when one edge is worn, the blade is rotated to expose the next cutting edge, before complete replacement. Original Bernardo replacement blades available with 3–5 working days shipping.
Is three-phase power required?
Yes. The 7.5 kW motor requires three-phase 400V power. Verify the availability of the three-phase system at the installation site before ordering.
How much space is needed for installation?
Footprint 2100 x 2250 x 1400 mm. For sheet handling, clear space at least equal to the cutting length (1360 mm) is needed in front of and behind the machine. With 2350 kg, coordinate with Krollit for the necessary unloading equipment.
