The nominal thickness of 1.5 mm refers to S235 steel (400 N/mm²). For aluminum, capacity increases by 30–50% (approx. 2.1 mm). For AISI 304 stainless steel, capacity decreases by 30–40% (approx. 1.0 mm).
Are the blades replaceable?
Yes. Cutting blades are replaceable when worn or damaged. Original Bernardo replacement blades are available with 3–5 business days shipping.
Does it require fixed installation or is it used on a workbench?
Most Bernardo lever shears are fixed to a workbench or floor with bolts. They do not require special foundations. More compact versions can also be used with a bench vice.
Can the Bernardo HS 8 Lever Shear also cut copper and brass?
