Description

Bernardo RBM 780 SB / 230 V Pillar Drill

The Bernardo RBM 780 SB pillar drill is designed for precise machining up to Ø 16 mm, suitable for workshops, laboratories, and advanced hobbyists. The drilling head is extendable, swiveling, and tilting (-90° to +45°), while the table can tilt from -45° to +45° and rotate 360°, ensuring maximum operational flexibility.

The ground steel column with rack and pinion, the stable base, and the cast iron pulleys ensure smooth and vibration-free operation. Precision bearings guarantee high spindle concentricity.

Thanks to the IP54 compliant safety switch, emergency stop button, and height-adjustable protection, the model guarantees safety and ease of use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a radial drill and when is it needed compared to a pillar drill?

In a pillar drill, the workpiece is moved to center the drill bit over the hole. In a radial drill, the spindle moves: the radial arm slides along the column (height) and rotates around it (angle), positioning the spindle exactly over the drilling point on fixed and heavy workpieces that are not easily moved. It is the choice for large workpieces, metal fabrication, and operations on already assembled machines.

Is the radial arm motorized or manual?

It depends on the model. Basic versions of the RD series have manual arm movement with screw lock. NC or Vario versions may have Z-axis motorization. Check the model specifications in the technical data table.

What is the purpose of clockwise/counter-clockwise (R/L) spindle rotation?

Counter-clockwise (L) rotation allows the use of left-hand milling cutters and loosening of left-hand threaded screws. It is also useful for manual tapping operations where advancement (clockwise) and retraction (counter-clockwise) are alternated to break chips.

Are spare parts and assistance available?

Original Bernardo spare parts available with 3–5 business days shipping. Customer support available in Italian.

How much space is needed for installation?

The turning radius of the arm determines the minimum operating area. Leave free space equal to the arm's radius on all sides of the column. For machines over 500 kg, coordinate with Krollit for the necessary unloading equipment.
