Frequently asked questions

Keyless chuck 1 - 16 mm — what's the difference compared to a geared chuck (keyed)?

Keyless chucks allow bits to be mounted and dismounted by hand — no key to look for, no risk of losing the key during machining. The clamping force is generated by manually rotating the collar: sufficient for standard drilling. For heavy drilling (Ø >20 mm on steel) or operations that generate reverse torque (tapping), a geared chuck ensures a superior hold compared to a keyless chuck.

MK 2 taper — which machine is it compatible with?

The MK 2 taper fits directly into the machine spindle with an MK 2 Morse taper socket. Ensure that your machine's socket matches the indicated taper. For machines with a different diameter socket, use extension/reduction sleeves. Customer service in Italian available.

Can the chuck be used for machine tapping?

No — keyless chucks are not suitable for machine tapping. The reverse torque generated during tap extraction can loosen the chuck's grip, causing the tap to be released. For tapping on a drill, use specific tapping chucks with safety clutches.
