Frequently Asked Questions
Keyless chuck 1 - 16 mm — what's the difference compared to a geared chuck (keyed chuck)?
A keyless chuck allows you to mount and dismount drill bits with just your hand — no key to search for, no risk of losing the key during operation. The clamping force is generated by manually rotating the collar: sufficient for standard drilling. For heavy-duty drilling (Ø >20 mm on steel) or operations that generate reverse torque (tapping), a geared chuck ensures a superior hold to a keyless chuck.
MK 4 Taper — what machine is it compatible with?
The MK 4 taper fits directly into the machine's spindle with an MK 4 Morse taper seat. Please check that your machine's seat matches the indicated taper. For machines with a different diameter seat, use extension/reduction sleeves. Customer support available in Italian.
Can this chuck be used for machine tapping?
No — keyless chucks are not suitable for machine tapping. The reverse torque generated during tap extraction can loosen the chuck's grip, causing the tap to be released. For tapping on a drill press, use tap holders with specific safety clutches for tapping.
