The GB 28 S is the pillar version with a higher working height — suitable for tall and heavy workpieces that cannot be lifted onto a workbench. The GB 28 T is the more compact benchtop version, for those with limited vertical space or working on small parts.
Up to Ø 28 mm on steel — does the capacity also apply to stainless steel and aluminum?
Ø 28 mm is the nominal capacity on S235 steel. On AISI 304 stainless steel, the capacity is reduced by 30–40% — approximately Ø 18–20 mm with the lowest speed and abundant coolant. On aluminum, the capacity increases by 30%. For holes over Ø 20 mm on any material, always use the lowest available speed with controlled feed.
Is the included cooling system necessary?
Coolant is necessary for: stainless steel (always), alloyed and hardened steels, large diameter drilling over Ø 15 mm on steel, series production with close cycles. Coolant is not used on wood and plastic. For aluminum, kerosene or specific aluminum oil is used instead of emulsified water.
