Is this grinding wheel for HSS steel or HM carbide?

The type A aluminum oxide cup wheel (white or gray corundum) is the standard grinding wheel for sharpening HSS steel tools — milling cutters, drill bits, lathe tools. The cup shape allows for front and side sharpening of tools with the flat face of the wheel. Material: Al₂O₃. Do not use on carbide (HM) — it wears out very quickly.

How do I mount this grinding wheel on the UWS 300/350?

The grinding wheels of the UWS are mounted on the machine shaft via a clamping flange with a standard Ø 32 mm bore. Before mounting, check that the grinding wheel has no cracks (sound test: suspend the grinding wheel and tap it — it should emit a clear metallic sound, not a dull one). Tighten the flange with the torque indicated in the manual — do not overtighten so as not to stress the grinding wheel. Customer support in Italian available.
