Who uses the MC for HC50-80 and for what
The Reventon MC for HC50-80 is a mixing chamber for integration with HC 50-80 series air heaters. Operation: the chamber mixes outdoor (cold) air with preheated indoor air from the heater, distributing a thermally optimized flow that reduces thermal loads on the system and optimizes energy consumption. The intelligent controller automatically adjusts air proportions based on the set temperature, minimizing energy use. Multiple operating modes: heating (priority to heated air), ventilation (forced recirculation without heating), mixing (balances indoor/outdoor air). Dual frost protection (mechanical thermostat + digital sensor) blocks outdoor airflow in case of frost risk, protecting the system. MODBUS RTU/TCP communication for remote monitoring and synchronization with other devices (thermostats, BMS systems, industrial automation). Maximum air flow 15,000 m³/h and electrical power 0.5 kW sized for large industrial environments (warehouses, large shopping centers, production facilities). For Krollit customers, the MC for HC50-80 is chosen by industrial warehouses, large shopping centers, production and logistics facilities up to approximately 4,000-6,000 m².
Its place in the range
The Reventon mixing chamber range includes 2 models by environment size: MC for HC20-45 (compatible with HC 20-45 heaters, flow rate 8,000 m³/h, power 0.3 kW) for medium environments (workshops, small warehouses, shops, shopping centers); MC for HC50-80 (compatible with HC 50-80, flow rate 15,000 m³/h, power 0.5 kW) for large industrial environments (warehouses, large shopping centers, production facilities).
The MC for HC50-80 is sized for large industrial environments up to approximately 4,000-6,000 m². Distinctive features compared to MC for HC20-45: higher flow rate (15,000 vs 8,000 m³/h), higher power (0.5 vs 0.3 kW), exclusively 400V three-phase power supply (vs 230/400V availability for MC HC20-45). For medium environments (below 2,000 m²), the MC for HC20-45 is more economical and correctly sized.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the chamber work without an HC heater?
No. The mixing chamber is designed specifically for integration with Reventon HC series heaters. Without a heater, the chamber cannot perform the heating function; it can only operate as a mechanical fan for air recirculation.
For standalone mechanical ventilation applications, dedicated fans are available and significantly more economical. The MC mixing chamber is sized for integration with the complete HVAC system. For projects that only involve ventilation and not heating, the MC chamber is oversized.
What does MODBUS RTU/TCP mean?
MODBUS is a standard industrial communication protocol for automation devices. RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) uses an RS-485 serial cable for local communication; TCP uses an Ethernet network for communication via company networks or the internet. Both allow control of the chamber from centralized supervisors.
For integration into BMS (Building Management System) systems in professional buildings, hospitals, and shopping centers, MODBUS is the de facto standard. The MC chamber can be monitored and adjusted from a remote station: set temperature, operating mode, alarms. For integration with specific systems, it is recommended to consult the building's BMS system integrator.
Is dual frost protection necessary?
Yes, it is a mandatory safety component for HVAC systems that operate with outdoor air. The risk: in case of frost, moisture in the air turns into ice on sensors and heat exchangers, causing mechanical damage and system shutdown.
Single protection (mechanical thermostat only) can fail without warning: if the thermostat does not detect frost, the system continues to operate, causing damage. Dual protection (mechanical thermostat + digital sensor) offers redundancy: if one of the two sensors fails, the other continues to protect the system. For environments with regular frost risk (mountainous areas, outdoor warehouses), dual protection is mandatory; for continuously heated environments, it is prudent to still have redundancy.
Does installation require specialized personnel?
Yes. The integration of the chamber with the existing HC heater, electrical connection, and MODBUS configuration require expertise in HVAC systems and industrial automation. DIY installation is not recommended for safety and warranty reasons.
Krollit provides telephone and email support for technical clarifications during installation, but the work must be carried out by qualified personnel (certified HVAC technician). For complex projects, it is recommended to involve a professional thermotechnical engineer for preliminary design. The chamber's warranty is valid only if installation has been performed by qualified personnel according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Is the 15-20% efficiency truly measurable?
Yes, but it depends on operating conditions. The 15-20% savings in consumption is the typical value in environments with an average ratio of fresh air to recirculated air; in environments with high fresh air requirements (hospitals, gyms), savings may be lower; in environments with low requirements (offices, closed warehouses), it may be higher.
To measure actual savings, it is recommended to install dedicated energy meters (thermal energy for heating, electric meter for fans) and compare with the situation before installation. For certified energy efficiency projects (ESCOs, white certificates), baseline + post-intervention measurement is mandatory. For correct sizing of expected savings, consult a professional thermotechnical engineer.
