Is the ST1M compatible with the IGM PS33 portable planer thicknesser?
Yes. The PS33 weighs 35 kg and has base dimensions of 340×615 mm with the tables closed: it falls within the ST1M's 200 kg capacity, while the 615 mm width exceeds the 570 mm of the top, so it is necessary to drill the MDF top at the PS33's fixing points.
On the IGM website, the ST1M is listed directly among the recommended accessories for the PS33. Drilling the MDF top is a standard operation that does not require specific equipment. Once fixed, the PS33 is stable during workpiece advancement thanks to the stand's ample capacity relative to the machine's weight.
Can the ST1M's laminated MDF top be replaced or modified?
The laminated MDF top is designed to be drilled by the user at the specific machine's fixing points. A standard replacement from the IGM catalog is not provided.
In case of wear or damage, the top can be replaced with a 570×500 mm laminated MDF panel purchased separately from any panel dealer. The recommended thickness is that of the original panel to maintain the 835 mm working height. Does the pedal mechanism lock the wheels during machine use?
Yes. The pedal lowers the frame, bringing the stand directly to the ground, lifting the wheels, and making the base stable during machine operation.
To move the stand, the pedal is operated again in the opposite direction, lifting the frame onto the wheels. This system allows switching from mobile to locked position without tools and without bending your back, which is crucial in workshops where machines are frequently moved between different work areas.
Which benchtop machines are compatible with the ST1M's 570×500 mm top?
The 570×500 mm top is compatible with most medium-sized benchtop machines: portable planer thicknessers, benchtop band saws, miter saws, disc and spindle sanders, compact drill presses.
For machines with a base larger than the top, use is still possible provided that the machine's center of gravity remains centered on the top and that the fixing points can be reached by drilling the MDF. The manufacturer explicitly excludes use with machines with a high center of gravity such as tall drill presses and vertical mortising machines.
