Description

Bernardo SB 1 Sandblaster with Benchtop Cabinet for Small Parts

The Bernardo SB 1 sandblaster is a compact blasting cabinet suitable for workshops, restorers, and hobbyists. It is ideal for cleaning, derusting, and finishing small to medium-sized components, combining efficiency and ease of use in a benchtop format.
The robust structure features a transparent lid with protective film, dust-proof seal, and an internal grid for positioning parts. Thanks to its low air consumption (200–350 l/min) and an operating pressure of 6–8 bar, it is compatible with most household or workshop compressors. The integrated abrasive tank of approximately 4.5 kg and internal lighting make the work practical and precise. Weighing only 17 kg, the SB 1 is a compact and stable solution thanks to its non-slip rubber feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SB 1, SB 2, SB 3, and SB 4?

SB 1: the most compact (benchtop cabinet for hobbyists, reduced volume, no integrated dust collector). SB 2: professional benchtop cabinet, larger volume, integrated lighting. SB 3: like SB 2 with integrated dust collector and filter — does not require an external dust collector. SB 4: the largest (148 liters), for large parts, with integrated dust collector. The choice depends on the size of the parts and frequency of use.

What type of abrasive material is used?

Bernardo SB 1–4 cabinets use dry granules: glass beads (for shiny surfaces), white or brown corundum (for roughing and satin finishing), garnet (for aluminum and soft materials), glass pearls (for finishing). Each abrasive leaves a different surface finish. The most common grit size is 80–120 mesh for general use. Do not use quartz sand — it produces hazardous silica dust.

Does the SB 3 / SB 4 cabinet require an external dust collector?

No. SB 3 and SB 4 have integrated dust collectors and filters — they operate autonomously without connection to an external dust collector. SB 1 and SB 2 require connection to an external dust collector for air recirculation and dust filtration.

Are spare nozzles and films available?

Yes. Ceramic nozzles (Ø 4, 5, 6, 7 mm), protective films for the viewing window, and all original Bernardo spare parts are available with 3–5 working days shipping.

What compressor is needed for the SB cabinets?

Bernardo SB 1–4 cabinets require compressed air at 5–8 bar. A compressor with a minimum 50-liter tank and a minimum flow rate of 200–300 l/min is adequate for intermittent use. For continuous use, prefer compressors with a higher flow rate — sandblasting is an operation with high air consumption.
