Extension socket CM 2 / 1

The CM 2/1 extension sleeve has an MT 2 external taper (it fits into the machine) and an MT 1 internal taper (it holds the tool). It allows mounting tools with an MT 1 Morse taper shank on machines with an MT 2 Morse taper socket — the larger number is the machine's taper, the smaller is the tool's taper. The extension sleeve allows the smaller tool to fit into the larger socket, maintaining DIN 2187 concentricity.

An extension sleeve holds a smaller taper (tool) in a larger socket (machine): CM 2/1 → the machine has MT 2, the tool has MT 1. A reduction sleeve does the opposite — it holds a larger taper in a smaller socket. They are not interchangeable. Always check which one you need before purchasing.

With the ejector pin (drawbar) that slides through the spindle hole: insert the pin from the opposite side and tap with a hammer. Alternatively, use a flat extraction wedge inserted into the spindle slot. Never force with improvised tools — the Morse taper is self-locking and lateral force can damage the socket.
