Frequently Asked Questions

How to dilute MN 1103 concentrate and what ratio to use for different materials?

MN 1103 concentrate is measured with clean water (preferably demineralized to avoid limescale deposits). Standard dilution for steel and cast iron: 5–7% (1 part concentrate + 14–19 parts water). For aluminum and light alloys: 3–5% (more water-rich emulsion). For stainless steel and high-strength steels: 7–10% to increase lubricating capacity. Use a refractometer to check the actual concentration of the solution in use.

How often should the coolant solution in the tank be replaced?

Every 4–8 weeks in normal use (depends on water hardness, temperature, and intensity of use). Signs of replacement: unpleasant odor (bacterial growth), color change to brown or black, reduced lubricating effectiveness. Before replacement, clean the tank with a dedicated cleaning solution — do not simply top up the depleted solution.

Disposal of used solution — how should it be managed?

Used coolant emulsions are special waste (CER 12 01 09). Do not dispose of them in sewage drains — contact an authorized special waste collector or your local municipality for local guidelines. Separate oils and metal chips before disposal.
