Carbide milling bits 3 mm — for what material and machine?
Carbide (HM) milling bits with a 3 mm shank are for micro-milling on hard materials — hardened steel, ceramics, composite materials, glass, and stone — on CNC milling machines, Dremel, or bench milling machines with a high-speed spindle. Tungsten carbide is necessary for these materials where normal HSS would wear out in seconds. The 3 mm shank indicates use on small spindles (ER11, ER8, Dremel spindles).
