The Güde GSE 4701 RS is a 4-stroke petrol generator with a 224 cm³, 5.5 kW OHV engine, 3,600 W rated output, synchronous generator with AVR automatic voltage regulation, recoil start, 15 L fuel tank and up to 13 hours of runtime at 50% load. Manufactured by Güde GmbH & Co. KG, Wolpertshausen (Germany), founded in 1979. Distributed in Italy by Krollit, an official Güde distributor since 2007.
Warning: this generator must not be used to power electronically sensitive devices such as laptops, smartphones or audio systems. A synchronous generator with AVR is not equivalent to an inverter generator: the waveform quality is not suitable for devices with modern switching power supplies.

With 3,600 W rated output and 14 A across two 230 V sockets, the GSE 4701 RS can power a 200 L concrete mixer (about 1,800 W) and a 1,200 W angle grinder at the same time while remaining within the 3,200 W continuous rating. The 200 W margin allows a third light tool (drill or small grinder) to be started in sequence without overloading the generator.

Why is the GSE 4701 RS not suitable for laptops and smartphones?
The synchronous generator with AVR produces 230 V / 50 Hz AC with automatic voltage regulation, but the waveform may exhibit harmonic distortion and frequency variations greater than those tolerated by modern switching power supplies used in laptops, smartphones and digital audio equipment.
Inverter generators convert alternating current to direct current and then invert it again to produce a clean sine wave with THD below 3%, suitable for electronic devices. What periodic maintenance does the 224 cm³ 4-stroke OHV engine of the GSE 4701 RS require?
Routine maintenance includes: replacing the engine oil (0.6 L, 15W40 or 10W30) every 50 operating hours or at least once a year; cleaning or replacing the air filter every 25 hours; checking and adjusting the spark plug every 100 hours; and replacing the spark plug every 200 hours.
Before each use, check the oil level: the low-oil protection automatically stops the engine if the level falls below the minimum threshold. Unused fuel should be removed from the tank if the generator will not be used for more than 30 days. Can the GSE 4701 RS be used as backup power during a mains outage?
Yes. It can be used as a backup generator for isolated loads by connecting appliances directly to the panel sockets.
