The SA 1 grinding attachment is a portable belt sander (762 × 75 mm) with a sanding plate (180 × 75 mm) — it is mounted on angle grinders or compatible variable speed machines. It is used for sanding surfaces that are difficult to reach with standard flat sanders: profiles, edges, areas between components, curved surfaces. The belt speed of 16.4 m/sec is the optimal operating speed for sanding metal and wood.
The 762 × 75 mm abrasive belt — what grit is used for steel and wood?
For steel (roughing): K36–K60 belt. For steel (finishing): K80–K120. For wood (roughing): K60–K80. For wood (finishing): K120–K180. The constant speed of 16.4 m/sec is optimal for all grits — no adjustment is needed. The flat sanding plate allows work on flat surfaces; by removing the plate, a flexible belt for profiles is obtained.
The Ø 38 mm extraction — can it be connected to a vacuum cleaner?
Yes — the 38 mm suction hose is standard for professional portable vacuum cleaners. Connecting to a vacuum cleaner during sanding significantly reduces dust in the work area — especially important for aluminum (combustible dust), MDF (fine dust harmful by inhalation), and for maintaining visibility of the surface during finish sanding.
