The POSITRON P2 1000 mm position indicator — for which machines and axes?
The POSITRON P2 is a 1-axis DRO (digital readout) system with a 1000 mm magnetic scale and 0.01 mm resolution. It can be mounted on any linear axis of machine tools (lathe, milling machine, grinder) for digital position reading without interpreting mechanical verniers. "For DIY installation" means that it does not require specialized technical assistance — it comes with instructions and standard mounting brackets.
0.01 mm resolution — is it sufficient for precision turning?
0.01 mm (10 μm) resolution is adequate for normal precision turning — parts with h7/H7 tolerances (±0.01–0.02 mm). For high-precision machining (h5/H5 tolerances, ±0.005 mm), a DRO with 0.001 mm (1 μm) resolution is needed. For most artisanal machine shops, 0.01 mm resolution is more than sufficient.
