Frequently Asked Questions

Combined fabric belt kit 762 × 75 mm — how many grits does it include and for which sequence?

The combined kit includes aluminium oxide belts in multiple grits (typically K36, K60, K80, K120) to cover the entire sanding cycle from roughing to finishing. The correct sequence: start with the coarsest grit (K36) to remove oxidation or irregularities, then scale down to finer grits. Do not skip more than two consecutive grits — each grit must blend the scratches from the previous grit before moving to the next.

Fabric belts vs. paper belts for metal applications?

Fabric (cloth) is the correct backing for metal: flexible, tear-resistant under tension, and does not tear with metal chips like paper. The aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) structure of these belts is the standard abrasive for steel, aluminium, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. For stainless steel, use dedicated belts (not contaminated with mild steel) to avoid ferrous stains.
