CCCM 09T308 inserts have specific geometry for turning applications. Compatible with: chisel. HM (hard metal) tungsten carbide inserts are specific for each insert holder — the designation identifies the shape, dimensions, and cutting edge geometry. Before purchasing, verify the designation of the inserts required by your machine's insert holder.
When should an insert be replaced instead of rotated to the second cutting edge?
Reversible inserts have 2 or more cutting edges: rotate the insert when the first cutting edge is worn (deteriorating surface, increased vibration, burning on the workpiece). Replace the insert when all cutting edges are worn. Never reassemble a worn insert — the collapsed cutting edge produces excessive heat and can damage the insert holder.
