Frequently Asked Questions
Which tooth count should I choose for wood, aluminum, and plastic?
Solid wood (rip cut): 24–40 teeth, ATB alternating tooth bevel. MDF and panels: 60–80 teeth, flat tooth to reduce splintering. Aluminum: 80–100 teeth, specific TCG geometry, positive hook angle. Plastic: 60–80 teeth, geometry to prevent material melting. More teeth = cleaner cut but slower feed rate.
Is the 30 mm bore compatible with my Bernardo saw?
The 30 mm bore is the most common standard for Bernardo saws. Always check the bore diameter and external blade diameter (Ø) required by your machine. Adapters are available for blades with different bore sizes — contact Krollit to check compatibility. Customer support in Italian available.
Can HM (carbide) blades be sharpened?
Yes — HM blades can be sharpened with a Bernardo circular saw blade sharpener (SBS 700 or SBS 1000) equipped with a diamond grinding wheel. A quality HM blade can be sharpened 5–8 times before needing to be replaced. In-house sharpening is much more economical than replacement — a HW blade Ø 250 mm costs 80–200 euros.
