Who uses the Sabre 250 and what for
The Sabre 250 is used by advanced hobby woodworkers, model makers and small cabinetmaking workshops for curved cuts, shaping and trimming boards up to 127 mm thick. The two cutting speeds (460 and 1,000 m/min) make it suitable for solid wood and panels, as well as non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and brass when selecting the lower speed. The 250 mm aluminium wheels and spring-loaded roller guides keep the blade in position even when using the full cutting height, which is useful for those working with thick boards or making crosscuts on hardwoods.
Who the Sabre 250 is suitable for
| Profile |
Compatibility |
Reason |
| Advanced hobby woodworker |
Suitable |
127 mm cutting height and 2 speeds cover solid wood, panels and non-ferrous metals |
| Small cabinetmaking workshop |
Suitable |
250 mm wheels and spring guides maintain accuracy on thick boards |
| Model maker and precision hobbyist |
Suitable |
The 6 mm blade width allows tight cutting radii |
| Sawmill or continuous series production |
Not recommended |
The 550 W motor and 35 kg weight are designed for intermittent use, not industrial cycles |
Not recommended for: continuous cutting of solid wood over 127 mm thick (the cutting capacity is the physical limit of the machine) and for series production over extended shifts, where a bandsaw with a more powerful motor and larger wheels is required.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Sabre 250 cut metals too, or only wood?
It cuts solid wood, panels and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and brass. The two cutting speeds (460 and 1,000 m/min) allow the correct speed to be matched to the material, using the lower speed for non-ferrous metals.
The 460 m/min speed reduces blade overheating on soft metals, while 1,000 m/min is intended for wood. This machine is not suitable for cutting ferrous metals: dedicated bandsaws with much lower speeds and specific blades are required.
What is the maximum wood thickness it can cut?
The cutting height is 127 mm, which is the maximum thickness of the workpiece that can pass under the blade guide. The cutting width, meaning the distance between the blade and the frame, is 245 mm.
The 127 mm height covers most cabinetmaking operations on boards and blocks. When using the full height, the 250 mm aluminium wheels and spring-loaded roller guides keep the blade tensioned and in position without flexing, an essential requirement for accurate cuts in thick wood.
What power supply does the Sabre 250 require?
It runs on 230 V single-phase power, so it can be connected to a normal household or workshop socket without requiring a three-phase line. The input power is 550 W.
The single-phase power supply makes it suitable for hobby workshops and small workshops without a 400 V system. The 550 W motor is designed for intermittent use: for continuous work cycles over extended shifts, it is advisable to consider a higher-class bandsaw.
Which blades are needed and how many are included in the combo?
The combo includes the standard 12 mm blade plus the separate set of 3 blades (6, 9 and 12 mm), all 1,784 mm long. In total, four blades are available straight away.
The choice of width depends on the cut: 6 mm for tight radii, 9 mm for wider curves, 12 mm for straight cuts and trimming. Spare blades of the same length are available separately from Krollit stock in Monteforte Irpino (AV).
Does the Sabre 250 have a stand or should it be placed on a bench?
As standard, it is a benchtop machine, with a table height of 368 mm from the support surface. An optional stand with integrated mobility system is available.
For fixed workshop use, the optional stand raises the table to an ergonomic working height and adds wheels for moving the machine. The benchtop saw dimensions are 525 x 470 x 865 mm with a weight of 35 kg, manageable by one person for initial positioning.
What warranty does the Sabre 250 have?
Record Power offers a 5-year warranty on the Sabre 250. Technical support in Italian and original spare parts are managed by Krollit throughout the entire life of the product.
The 5-year warranty is above the average for the advanced hobby/semi-professional bandsaw category. Spare parts and support are managed directly from the Krollit warehouse in Monteforte Irpino (AV), with no need to ship the machine abroad.
