200 mm precision level with 0.02 mm/m accuracy — for what workshop applications?
The workshop level with 0.02 mm/m accuracy (equivalent to 0.02 mm per meter of measured length) is the tool for: leveling lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines during installation, checking the flatness of the lathe bed, checking the alignment of guides and support surfaces. The 0.02 mm/m precision is sufficient for 90% of craft machine tool installations — for high-precision machines, 0.01 mm/m levels are needed.
How is the level calibrated and checked?
The level is checked using the inversion method: place it on a reference surface and note the bubble's deviation; turn it 180° in the same position and note the new deviation. If the deviation in the inverted position is equal and opposite, the level is calibrated. If it is different, the level's error is half the difference between the two readings. Calibration should be performed annually or after impacts.
