Blade lubricating wax — how is it used and on which machines?
It is applied directly to the teeth of the circular blade or to the band before cutting, or on the surface of the guide table. The wax reduces friction between the blade and the wood during cutting: less heat, fewer burns on the cutting edge, less resin build-up on the teeth. Apply every 30–60 minutes during intensive use on resinous woods (pine, spruce) or every session on hardwoods. Does not act as a lubricant in bearings — only for wood/blade contact.
Does it also work on saw blades and jigsaw blades?
Yes — the wax in solid form (stick) is applied to any wood cutting blade: circular saws, bandsaws, jigsaws. Particularly useful on bandsaw blades for resinous wood where resin clogging is the main issue for blade life. Do not use on metal — where specific oil-based or coolant lubricants are needed.
