Frequently asked questions

PO3 Ø 250 mm chuck — for which type of lathe and with which attachment?

The PO3 chuck is a 3-jaw self-centering steel chuck with DIN 6350 centering. The standard DIN 6350 flanged attachment requires tightening the fixing screws for mounting. Check the number of holes and the diameter of the bolt circle of your chuck before purchasing.

PO3 steel version vs cast iron version — what is the concrete difference?

The steel version of the PO3 is 20–30% lighter than cast iron for the same diameter — it reduces start/brake times and vibrations at high speeds. Steel allows higher maximum rotational speeds than cast iron. For high-speed lathes or for those who frequently work with quick changes, the steel version is the correct choice.

The included jaw kit — what size pieces can this Ø 250 mm chuck clamp?

The Ø 250 mm chuck includes rotating jaws (for external clamping) and drilling jaws (for internal clamping). As a reference: rotating jaws clamp pieces from approximately 5% to 60% of the chuck diameter. For very small pieces compared to the chuck, consider clamping pliers; for very large pieces, consider a larger diameter chuck. Italian customer support available.
