Frequently Asked Questions
Keyless drill chuck 1 - 16 mm — what's the difference compared to a geared (keyed) drill chuck?
The keyless chuck allows bits to be mounted and removed by hand — no key to search for, no risk of losing the key during machining. The clamping force is generated by manually rotating the collar: sufficient for standard drilling. For heavy drilling (Ø >20 mm on steel) or operations that generate reverse torque (tapping), a geared drill chuck provides superior clamping to a keyless chuck.
B 16 attachment — compatibility?
The B 16 attachment is the most common standard short taper (Jacobs) found on drill presses. Check the short taper code of your machine's chuck before purchasing. Customer service available in Italian.
Can the chuck be used for machine tapping?
No — keyless chucks are not suitable for machine tapping. The reverse torque generated during tap extraction can loosen the chuck, causing the tap to be released. For tapping on a drill, use tap holders with specific safety clutches for tapping.
