Description

EBM 50 E Portable Edge Bander – Professional and Practical

The EBM 50 E portable edge bander is a professional machine designed for precise edge banding applications on wood panels and derivatives, ideal for both mobile work and bench use. Continuous temperature adjustment and fast heat-up time ensure high operational practicality and compatibility with various adhesive granules. It is suitable for processing ABS, PVC, melamine, and veneer, ensuring uniform glue distribution thanks to the special applicator roller. Glue dosage is adjustable via a precision knob, while the design also allows for pre-gluing in hard-to-reach areas, such as internal corners or special joints. A versatile solution for carpentry, assembly, and repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between DR, EBM, and PEB in the Bernardo edge bander range?

DR 500 / DR 500 S: fixed stationary edge banders with automatic motorized feed — for series production with consistent quality over long runs. EBM 50 E / EBM 60 Profi: portable edge banders with adjustable electric feed, more versatile for workshops with varied production. PEB 300 / PEB 500 V: manual portable edge banders or with variable feed (V) — the most economical, suitable for low-volume artisanal production.

What type of glue does it use and how long does it take to heat up?

All Bernardo edge banders use EVA granular hot-melt glue melted in the heated tank. Heat-up time is typically 4–8 minutes. Keep the glue at the correct temperature for the edge type: standard PVC 140–160°C, ABS 160–180°C, thick edges 180–200°C. Replacement EVA granular glue available from Krollit.

What edge thicknesses are compatible?

PEB edge banders work with edges from 0.3 to 3.0 mm. DR and EBM edge banders typically accept edges from 0.4 mm up to 3.0 mm, with feed speed adaptable to thickness. For edges over 3 mm or solid wood edges, different specialized equipment is needed.

How do you clean the glue pot?

With the glue still hot (never cold): empty the pot with a special scraper, then clean residues with absorbent paper while the pot is still hot. Do not use water. If the glue has hardened cold, restart the machine until the glue softens and proceed with cleaning while the machine is hot.

Are spare parts available?
