Cross vise KS 150 — what is it and for which machine?
The KS 150 cross vise has two independent displacement axes (X and Y): it allows moving the workpiece on the horizontal plane without removing it from the vise. Mounted on the table of a press or a drilling machine, it allows drilling series of holes in precise positions without moving and remounting the workpiece each time. Jaw width? mm mm. The graduated handwheels indicate the position with 0.05 mm resolution.
Are the longitudinal and transverse travels sufficient for standard drilling layouts?
Check the travels in the technical table of the specific model. As a reference: the KS 100 has 80 mm × 80 mm and the KS 150 has a greater travel — sufficient for standard flange and plate layouts. For more extensive drilling layouts, it is necessary to physically move the vise or use a motorized NC cross table.
