What type of abrasive material is used?
Bernardo SB 1–4 cabinets use dry granules: glass beads (for shiny surfaces), white or brown corundum (for roughing and satin finishing), garnet (for aluminum and soft materials), glass pearls (for finishing). Each abrasive leaves a different surface finish. The most common grit size is 80–120 mesh for general use. Do not use quartz sand — it produces hazardous silica dust.
Does the SB 3 / SB 4 cabinet require an external dust extractor?
No. SB 3 and SB 4 have integrated dust extractors and filters — they operate autonomously without connection to an external dust extractor. SB 1 and SB 2 require connection to an external dust extractor for air recirculation and dust filtration.

What compressor is needed for SB cabinets?
Bernardo SB 1–4 cabinets require compressed air at 5–8 bar. A compressor with a minimum 50-liter tank and a minimum flow rate of 200–300 l/min is adequate for intermittent use. For continuous use, prefer compressors with a higher flow rate — sandblasting is an operation with high air consumption.
