What is a satin finishing machine and what is it used for?

The Bernardo DP 120 / DP 120 A satin finishing machine applies a grain finish (satin finish) to metal surfaces — steel, stainless steel, aluminum — using abrasive belts or fiber discs. It produces the typical "brushed" or "satin" finish used on design components, household appliances, architectural structures, and machine parts where a uniform aesthetic and the removal of surface oxidation are desired.

What is the difference between DP 120 and DP 120 A?

The DP 120 A is the rechargeable 18V battery version — completely cordless, suitable for use on construction sites or on already assembled structures where no power outlet is available. The standard DP 120 is mains powered. Same satin finishing functionality, different power source.

What grit sizes are used for different finishes?

For oxidation removal and roughing: P80–P120. For standard satin finishing (equivalent to K320 finish): P150–P180. For fine "brushed" finish: P220–P320. For stainless steel: use specific stainless steel belts not contaminated with mild steel — iron residues cause oxidation stains on stainless steel.
