When should this disc be used in the polishing cycle?
Quilted flannel disc (grid-stitched cotton): the quilted structure keeps the polishing paste evenly distributed — suitable for the intermediate and final polishing stages on flat surfaces. Quilted cotton produces less heat than sisal at the same stage, reducing the risk of burns on temperature-sensitive materials such as aluminum and plastic. Main application: intermediate polishing and finishing on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics.
Is this Ø 350 mm disc with a 16 mm bore compatible with which machine?
The Ø 350 × 25 × 16 mm (or 40 × 16 mm for the wide model) format is the standard for Bernardo bench polishing and sharpening machines. Check that the machine accepts discs of this diameter and with this bore. For UWS 300/350 sharpeners, check compatibility separately. Customer service in Italian available.
Can the discs be washed and reused after use?
Cotton discs (quilted flannel, loose, woven) can be cleaned with a bench wire brush while still hot to remove hardened paste. Regular cleaning keeps the disc efficient 3–5 times longer. Sisal discs are more difficult to clean — replace when the fiber is clogged with hardened paste.
