What is a band saw welder and when is it used?
The Bernardo SG 316 band saw welder welds the cut ends of abrasive belts to re-close them after replacement on belt sanders. Instead of buying pre-closed belts (more expensive), open belts are purchased by the meter – more economical – and the joint is welded with the SG 316. Suitable for stainless steel (grade 316) and other abrasive belts of compatible width.
What belt widths does the SG 316 weld?

Does the joint have the same strength as the base belt?
