PO4 4-jaw chuck Ø 200 mm — when to choose it over the PO3 3-jaw chuck?

The PO4 4-jaw chuck is necessary for: square, rectangular, asymmetrical, or irregular parts that cannot be centered with the 3 jaws of the PO3. The 4 jaws adjust independently — each jaw moves separately to adapt to any shape. Centering takes more time (3–5 minutes with a dial indicator) compared to the self-centering PO3, but the achievable precision is higher: <0.01 mm with a dial indicator. The PO3 is faster; the PO4 is more versatile.

D5 DIN 55029 camlock mount — how does quick mounting work?

The D5 camlock mount allows mounting and dismounting the chuck in less than 30 seconds: turn the locking flange a quarter of a turn. The cam guarantees repeatability of positioning <0.01 mm with each mounting — the chuck always returns to the same angular position. Check the mount code (D5) of your lathe before purchasing.

Are the included jaws reversible for external gripping?

The included kit contains rotating jaws (external gripping) and boring jaws (internal gripping). For gripping sturdy parts from the inside, boring jaws are used; for standard external gripping, rotating jaws are used. The PO4 jaws are not reversible — they are replaced with the appropriate type based on the operation. Customer support in Italian available.
