When should the jaws be replaced?

Jaws wear out progressively: the teeth flatten, and the grip on the sheet metal becomes less effective — the machine has to make more passes to produce the same effect, or it starts to slip on the sheet metal. Replace when frequent slipping or reduced stretching/shrinking effectiveness is observed. In intensive professional use, typically every 2–5 years.
