Güde ECO WHEELER 413.3 R push lawn mower – 418 mm cutting width, 2.2 kW
The ECO WHEELER 413.3 R is the entry-level model in the Güde push mower range, ideal for owners of small to medium-sized gardens with a limited budget. The 418 mm cutting width efficiently covers areas of up to 900 m² with long yet manageable passes. The 2.2 kW engine delivers sufficient torque for medium-height grass without requiring complex maintenance. Compared to the professional BIG WHEELER 553.1 R ALU version (500 mm, 3.5 kW), this model trades power and cutting width for simpler construction and reduced weight (20 kg vs 65 kg). Rear-wheel drive with a light clutch allows agile control in tight spaces and gardens with irregular flower beds.
The ECO WHEELER is the right choice when the priority is reliability without complexity: recoil start (Leicht Start, easy-start system), single cylinder and simple transmission. The declared consumption of 0.7 l/h makes the machine economical to run. The 3-in-1 mulching function (cutting, collecting, shredding) allows the mower to be used according to the season.
Who the ECO WHEELER 413.3 R lawn mower is suitable for
| Profile |
Suitable? |
Reason |
| Hobby user / private garden owner |
Ideal |
418 mm cutting width handles 800–900 m² in a reasonable time; 20 kg weight reduces fatigue; Leicht Start system is extremely easy to use |
| Gardening maintenance operator / small business |
Adequate |
The 2.2 kW engine is borderline for daily use; more suitable for mowing several gardens in sequence than for 8 continuous hours; Güde reliability is well established |
| Continuous production / fleet use |
Not recommended |
Insufficient power for shift-based professional sites; frequent maintenance and engine spare parts may cost more than the initial saving |
Not recommended for: high-intensity professional sites with many operating hours (commercial lawn care, public park maintenance > 2 hectares), environments with very dense or wet grass (the single-cylinder engine has no torque reserve), operators requiring low noise levels (the 4-stroke petrol engine is not silent, approx. 93 dB).

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace the 1-litre tank with a larger one?
No, the tank is integrated into the frame. The 1-litre capacity provides approximately 85–100 minutes of continuous operation (average consumption 0.7 l/h); for gardens > 900 m², a 10-minute break and refuelling are recommended. No Güde aftermarket tanks are available for this model.
Which cutting height should I choose for average Italian grass?
The recommended setting is 35–40 mm (positions 3–4 out of 6). Heights below 25 mm expose the soil and damage the lawn surface; heights above 60 mm leave the grass too long. In spring, start at 40 mm; in summer, reduce to 35 mm if the grass is vigorous.
What maintenance does the ECO WHEELER require?
Engine oil every 10 working hours (check before each session with the dipstick), air filter replacement every 50 hours or when visibly dirty, blade cleaning every 5–8 hours (switch off the engine and clean with a brush). Do not apply grease to the bearings if they are sealed. An annual service at a Güde workshop is recommended if the mower is used for more than 40 hours per year.
Is the ECO WHEELER noisy?
Yes, the single-cylinder 4-stroke engine generates approximately 93 dB at full load, in line with mid-range petrol push mowers. It is not as quiet as a battery-powered model, but it is quieter than professional three-phase mowers (100+ dB). Use is not recommended early in the morning in densely populated residential areas.
Can I use fuel containing alcohol (E10)?
Yes, the Power-Engine S 434 V is E10 approved (fuel with up to 10% ethanol). In winter, if the machine remains unused for more than 30 days, it is advisable to empty the tank or add a fuel stabiliser to prevent gum deposits in the carburettor.
What is the difference between ECO WHEELER 413.3 R and BIG WHEELER 553.1 R ALU?
The ECO WHEELER has a 418 mm cutting width, 2.2 kW power, steel frame, 20 kg weight and is suitable for areas up to 900 m². The BIG WHEELER has a 500 mm cutting width, 3.5 kW power (196 cm³), aluminium frame, 65 kg weight (with collection system), is suitable for areas up to 1,500 m² and is designed for professional handling. Choose the ECO for small private gardens, and the BIG WHEELER for garden maintenance, hobby users with larger areas or semi-professional use.
