PO4 4-jaw chuck Ø 160 mm — when to choose it over the PO3 3-jaw chuck?
The PO4 4-jaw chuck is necessary for: square, rectangular, asymmetrical or irregular workpieces that cannot be centered with the 3 jaws of the PO3. The 4 jaws adjust independently — each jaw moves separately to adapt to any shape. Centering takes longer (3–5 minutes with a dial indicator) than with the self-centering PO3, but the achievable precision is higher: <0.01 mm with a dial indicator. The PO3 is faster; the PO4 is more versatile.
Camlock attachment D5 DIN 55029 — how does quick mounting work?
The D5 camlock attachment allows mounting and dismounting the chuck in less than 30 seconds: turn the locking flange a quarter of a turn. The cam guarantees positioning repeatability <0.01 mm at each mounting — the chuck always returns to the same angular position. Check the attachment code (D5) of your lathe before purchasing.
Included jaws — can they be reversed for external gripping?
The included kit contains rotating jaws (external gripping) and boring jaws (internal gripping). For gripping strong workpieces from the inside, boring jaws are used; for standard external gripping, rotating jaws are used. The PO4 jaws are not reversible — they are replaced with the appropriate type depending on the operation. Customer support in Italian available.
