5C collet system — when is it used instead of the standard 3-jaw chuck?
5C collets clamp workpieces with cylindrical or hexagonal shanks with higher concentricity than jaw chucks (TIR typically <0.005 mm vs. <0.02–0.05 mm for jaw chucks). They are necessary when: concentricity is critical (precision manufacturing on shafts, gears), workpieces are small (Ø 3–26 mm) and the jaw cannot clamp effectively, working in series with identical parts to be loaded quickly. Disadvantage: each diameter requires its specific collet (sold separately).
The collet chuck + 5C collet combination — what can be clamped?
5C collets accept cylindrical workpieces from 3 to 26 mm. Each collet is specific for a diameter (e.g., 10 mm collet for Ø 10 mm bars). Purchase collets of the diameter corresponding to your workpieces — sold separately in sets or individually. Customer support in Italian available.
