The cyclonic separator intercepts chips and coarse sawdust before they reach the main filter of the dust collector: air enters tangentially into a conical cylinder, the circular motion causes heavy particles to fall into the tank below, while clean air rises towards the dust collector. Result: the dust collector filter clogs much more slowly — you empty the cyclonic tank instead of changing expensive filters.
