Description

Bernardo RD 2000 x 63 Radial Drill – Powerful and Industrial

The Bernardo RD 2000 x 63 radial drill is designed for professional large-scale operations such as drilling, counterboring, reaming, and tapping up to M56. With a drilling capacity of up to Ø 63 mm and a radial arm with a horizontal travel of 1580 mm, it ensures maximum flexibility and reliable performance in industrial environments.

The solid, torsion-free ground column and independent hydraulic clamps for the arm and head ensure rigidity and stability during machining. The oversized base (1980 x 1240 mm) and the 940 x 625 mm box table allow for clamping of bulky workpieces.

The 16-speed gearbox (20–1600 rpm) and 16 automatic spindle feeds (0.04–3.2 mm/rev) offer the right adjustment for every material and application. Standard features include: lifting motor, hydraulic motor, coolant pump, adjustable guard, LED light, and professional accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a radial drill and when is it needed compared to a pillar drill?

In a pillar drill, the workpiece moves to center the drill bit over the hole. In a radial drill, the spindle moves: the radial arm slides along the column (height) and rotates around it (angle), positioning the spindle exactly above the drilling point on fixed, heavy workpieces that cannot be easily moved. It is the choice for large workpieces, metal fabrication, and operations on already assembled machines.

Is the radial arm motorized or manual?

It depends on the model. Basic versions of the RD series have manual arm movement with a screw lock. NC or Vario versions may have motorized Z-axis. Check the model specifications in the technical table.

What is the purpose of the spindle's right/left (R/L) rotation?

Left rotation (L) allows the use of left-hand milling cutters and loosening of left-hand threaded screws. It is also useful for manual tapping operations where forward (right) and backward (left) movements are alternated to break the chip.

Are spare parts and assistance available?

Original Bernardo spare parts available with 3–5 working day shipping. Customer service available in Italian.

How much space is needed for installation?

The arm's rotation radius determines the minimum operating area. Leave clear space equal to the arm's radius on all sides of the column. For machines over 500 kg, coordinate with Krollit for the necessary unloading equipment.
