Frequently Asked Questions
Which machine is it compatible with?
Check the title or technical sheet for the machine model or fitting indicated (e.g. DG 20 M, BSG 30 Pro, Bernardo HM 25).
Bernardo tools are original spare parts for the machines in the Krollit catalog. For doubts about compatibility, contact customer support specifying the machine's serial number.
CBN or diamond grinding wheel: which to choose?
CBN for sharpening drills and tools in HSS, hardened and case-hardened steels. Diamond ONLY for hard metal (carbide, HM).
CBN wheels cut "cold" without rounding on HSS, maintaining the abrasive edge for a long time. Diamond wheels should not be used on steel: the grains round off quickly, losing cutting ability.
What materials can it work on?
It depends on the geometry and material of the tool: HSS for common steels, HM/carbide for hard steels, CBN for HSS and case-hardened, diamond for hard metal.
Cobalt HM inserts (HSSE) work up to HRC 65. CBN wheels cut HRC 55-70 steels maintaining concentricity over time. For cast irons, consider green silicon carbide wheels.
How is it stored and maintained?
In a dry environment, protected from impact and oxidation. Grinding wheels should be periodically dressed with a diamond bar.
For abrasive wheels, proper storage and periodic dressing preserve the cutting geometry. For HM inserts, storage in the original box is sufficient.
Is it an original Bernardo spare part?
Yes, Krollit has been an official Bernardo distributor since 2007 and only supplies original tools from the manufacturer.
Compatible non-original tools may have out-of-spec tolerances and compromise machining precision. Shipping 3-5 business days.
