Description

Jet DDS-237 940 mm Double-Drum Sander Combo + 75 mm and 100 mm Abrasive Sanding Rolls

The Jet DDS-237 is a professional double-drum sander with a 940 mm working width, a workpiece thickness range of 0.8 to 133 mm, a 7.5 HP motor operating on 400 V, and a feed speed of 3 m/min. Combined with the 100 mm wide, 25 m long linen-backed abrasive rolls in 80 and 100 grit, it provides a ready-to-use rough sanding and finishing sequence. Distributed in Italy by Krollit, an official Jet distributor since 2007.

  • Maximum working width: 940 mm
  • Workpiece thickness: 0.8–133 mm
  • Drum dimensions: 152 × 940 mm
  • Motor power: 7.5 HP
  • Power supply: 400 V three-phase
  • Feed speed: 3 m/min
  • Weight: 440 kg
  • Abrasives included: 2 linen-backed rolls, 25 m long, 100 mm wide, grit 80 and grit 100

Why choose this combination

Thickness sanding is carried out progressively: an initial pass with a coarser grit removes material and evens out the thickness, while a second pass with a finer grit prepares the surface for finishing.

The two 100 mm rolls in grit 80 and 100 cover exactly this sequence: K80 for rough sanding and K100 for the next step towards a surface ready for finishing or coating.

Purchasing the machine together with both grits allows immediate operation and provides a ready supply of abrasive material, avoiding machine downtime while waiting for consumables.

Frequently asked questions

Are the abrasive rolls compatible with the DDS-237?

Yes. Both 100 mm rolls are specified as compatible with the Jet DDS-225 and DDS-237 drum sanders. Their width matches the abrasive specification for the machine's drums.

The rolls have a linen backing and are 25 m long. They must be cut and wrapped around the drum according to the machine instructions. For fitting documentation and information about other available grits, Krollit's Italian support service is available at +39 0825-1494022.

Why use 80 grit and 100 grit together?

80 grit is coarser and is intended for rough sanding, material removal and thickness levelling. 100 grit is finer and prepares the surface for the next finishing stage.

Using the two grits in sequence — K80 first and K100 second — allows the operator to move from initial calibration to a smoother surface in a single workflow. On a double-drum sander, the two grits can be installed on separate drums to perform both stages during a single feed pass.

What working capacity does the DDS-237 offer?

The drum sander handles workpieces up to 940 mm wide, from 0.8 to 133 mm thick, with a minimum workpiece length of 230 mm. Feed speed is 3 m/min.

This capacity is suitable for calibrating wide panels in solid wood, MDF and plywood before finishing. The two drums arranged in sequence allow rough sanding and finer sanding in the same feed cycle.

What power supply does the DDS-237 require?

The drum sander operates on 400 V three-phase power and is equipped with a 7.5 HP motor. It therefore requires a three-phase electrical system rather than a standard domestic single-phase outlet.

Its motor power and 440 kg weight position it firmly in the professional category. Before installation, check that a suitable 400 V three-phase supply is available in the workshop.

How does dust extraction work on the DDS-237?

The machine has two Ø 100 mm dust extraction ports, which should be connected to a dust extraction system appropriately sized for drum sanding.

Calibrated sanding generates significant quantities of fine dust, particularly when working with MDF. Proper extraction keeps the drums and workpiece cleaner, helps preserve surface quality and contributes to a healthier working environment.

How long do the abrasive rolls last?

Each roll is 25 m long and provides enough material for multiple drum re-fittings. Actual service life depends on the material being processed, the grit and the intensity of use.

The more aggressive 80 grit may wear more quickly during rough sanding of solid wood. Store the rolls in a dry environment to preserve the backing and abrasive material. For replacement abrasive rolls, Krollit support is available at +39 0825-1494022.

How is the combination shipped and delivered?

The drum sander is shipped within 5–9 working days, or approximately 7 working days to southern Italy. As the machine weighs 440 kg and exceeds 200 kg, delivery is made at ground level with a hydraulic tail lift included.

The abrasive rolls are consumables and normally ship within 3–5 working days from the Krollit warehouse. Italian customer support is available at +39 0825-1494022. Krollit has been an official Jet distributor since 2007.
