Who uses the CU 310 F – 2000 and for what purpose
The Bernardo CU 310 F – 2000 is a combination machine with a sliding table – it combines a jointer, planer, and circular saw with a sliding table. With a width of 310 mm, it covers the mid-to-high professional range of solid wood processing: jointing and planing, 90° and 45° sawing, squaring with the sliding table. The motor with dual power rating S1/S6 (2.8/3.9 kW) ensures continuous operation even on hardwoods. This version has a 2,000 mm sliding table compared to the CU 310 F 2600. In Krollit customers' workshops, it is used by carpenters, window makers, and wood craftsmen who are looking for a versatile machine in a compact space.

| Profile |
Compatibility |
Reason |
| Passionate hobbyist |
Not recommended |
Requires 400V three-phase. For hobby use, consider single-phase models. |
| Carpentry / wood craftsman |
Ideal |
310 mm jointer + planer + saw in a single machine: the solution for those with limited space who want to cover the main solid wood processes. |
| Intense industrial production |
Not recommended |
For high-volume wood production, separate dedicated machines (stand-alone planer + stand-alone saw) are preferred for faster cycles and independent maintenance. |
Not recommended for: pieces wider than 310 mm (planer) or beyond the saw table; intensive industrial production; woods beyond the 4 mm cutting depth capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a jointer and a planer in a combination machine?
The jointer (surface planer) straightens the surface of the workpiece – you pass the wood over the table to obtain a flat reference face. The planer brings the workpiece to the desired uniform thickness – you set the thickness and the wood is automatically fed through the machine. In a combination machine, both functions use the same cutter block: you change the function by moving the workpiece to the correct table.
When should HSS knives be replaced or sharpened?
In professional use (4–6 hours/day) on medium woods, HSS knives require sharpening every 2–4 weeks. On hardwoods, every 1–2 weeks. Sets of original Bernardo replacement knives are available with shipping in 3–5 working days. Alternatively, consider switching to a cutter block with TCT inserts (almost no maintenance due to insert rotation).
How much space is needed in the workshop for the CU 310 F – 2000?
In addition to the physical footprint of the machine, consider the space for workpiece handling: at least the maximum length of the workpiece in front of and behind the planer, and the same distance to the sides of the saw. In practice, for a combination machine with a 1390 mm table, at least 3–4 m of clear space on each side is needed.
Is a dedicated dust extractor needed?
Yes. Combination machines produce significant amounts of chips and sawdust. A dust extractor with a minimum flow rate of 600–800 m³/h and a Ø 100 mm connection is essential to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Bernardo offers compatible DC and FP extractors – contact Krollit for the correct configuration.
Can I switch to TCT knives on the existing cutter block?
It depends on the model of the installed cutter block. On some Bernardo combination machines, it is possible to replace the HSS knife cutter block with a TCT spiral cutter block (reversible inserts) which eliminates sharpening. Contact Krollit to verify compatibility with your specific CU 310 F – 2000.
