Bernardo CWM 250 Top Combo + UJK Complete Clamping Kit
The combo brings together two complementary components:
1. Bernardo CWM 250 Top – the only single-phase (230V) combination machine that integrates a vertical spindle moulder in addition to the three standard functions. 250 mm surface planer / 4,000 rpm / 3 knives: prepares smooth, flat surfaces. 245 mm thickness planer / 5–195 mm / 8 m/min: ensures consistent workpiece thickness. Circular saw Ø 250 mm / 980 × 470 mm table / 4,750 rpm: straight and angled cuts from 0–45°. Vertical spindle moulder with Ø 30 mm spindle / 6,500 rpm / 100 mm working height: moulding, grooving and profiling without a separate spindle moulder. Dedicated motors (2.2 + 1.5 + 1.4 + 1.4 kW), 310 kg, Austria.
2. UJK Clamping Kit – complete clamping system for multifunction worktops (Parf MkII, Festool MFT/3, 20 mm hole-grid tops). Cam clamps + wedges secure workpieces laterally, leaving the upper surface completely free for routing, cutting and sanding. 4-position bench stops (side, longitudinal, diagonal) adapt to irregularly shaped workpieces. 12 and 50 mm bench dogs (303 stainless steel) provide accurate positioning. Portable T-LOC case. Great Britain.
Together: 4-function woodworking workshop + precise clamping = no need to purchase separate machines such as a spindle moulder, mortiser or router table.
Who is the Bernardo CWM 250 Top + UJK Clamping Kit Combo suitable for?
| User profile | Suitable? | Reason |
|---|
| Small woodworking shop without three-phase power | Ideal | CWM 250 Top is a single-phase 4-function combination machine; UJK kit supports precision work with lateral clamping |
| Advanced hobbyist with workshop | Ideal | 4-function versatility, single-phase power, 310 kg construction and professional MFT clamping system |
| Intensive industrial production | Not recommended | For high production volumes, separate dedicated machines are more efficient |
Not recommended for: workshops with three-phase power available (consider CWM 250 R three-phase + separate spindle moulder); workpieces over 250 mm planing width; continuous 24/7 production (CWM is designed for intermittent rather than continuous-duty operation).

Frequently asked questions
1. What is the UJK clamping kit used for with the CWM 250 Top?
The kit secures workpieces on a Festool MFT/3-style multifunction table for precision woodworking operations. Cam clamps + wedges hold the workpiece laterally, leaving the upper surface unobstructed so the cutter can work across the entire surface without clamps getting in the way. Ideal for edge moulding, grooving, profiling and irregularly shaped parts.
2. Does the CWM 250 Top work with 230V single-phase power in any workshop?
Yes, it uses standard European 230V single-phase power. Maximum current draw with all motors running is approximately 15–18 A. Check that the workshop's 230V circuit can support at least 16 A continuously; a dedicated circuit is recommended. If the workshop only has a 10 A circuit, install a dedicated 16 A circuit before connecting the machine.
3. What is the difference between the CWM 250 Top and CWM 250 R?
CWM 250 Top: 4 functions (surface planing, thickness planing, sawing, spindle moulding), 230V single-phase, 310 kg, Ø 30 mm spindle.
CWM 250 R: 3 functions (surface planing, thickness planing, sawing), 400V three-phase, heavier, without integrated spindle moulder.
Choose the Top if you do not have three-phase power and want an integrated spindle moulder; choose the R if you have three-phase power and prefer a separate, more powerful spindle moulder.
4. Do I need a Festool MFT/3 multifunction table to use the UJK kit?
Yes. The kit is designed for Ø 20 mm hole-grid tops with 96 mm spacing, such as Parf MkII, Festool MFT/3 and compatible systems. Without an MFT-style worktop, the UJK kit cannot be used as intended. The CWM 250 Top can still be used independently.
5. How does the cam clamp + wedge system work?
The cam clamp applies the clamping force. The CNC-machined Valchromat HDF wedge works with the clamp to secure the workpiece laterally. Nothing projects above the workpiece surface, unlike conventional clamps. This is particularly useful for routing and other operations where unobstructed access from above is essential.
6. Does the kit include everything required for clamping?
Yes. It includes 4 clamps + 4 wedges + stops + dogs + guide-rail clips + chamfer cutter + portable case. No additional components are required for standard use. Additional UJK clamps and wedges can be purchased separately for particularly large or unusually shaped workpieces.
