Description

Güde MBS 116 metal band saw – 550 W, variable speed 21–44 m/min

The Güde MBS 116 is a professional metal band saw designed to provide versatility and reliability in demanding work environments. With a 550 W motor and belt speed adjustable over three settings (21, 30, 44 m/min), this machine adapts perfectly to different cutting operations and metal materials.

Main features:

  • Possibility to position the blade vertically or horizontally, allowing maximum operational flexibility
  • Fully adjustable blade feed to optimise cutting quality according to the material
  • Robust and stable structure, guaranteed by welded sheet metal construction and support frame
  • Fully adjustable workpiece clamping vice with wide travel
  • Motor head swivel from 90° to 45°, for angled cuts up to 45°
  • Transport trolley with two wheels makes movement in the workshop easier

Cutting blade compatibility: The blades are standardised (1638×13×0.65 mm) and available with different tooth densities to suit steel, aluminium, copper and special alloys. Krollit supplies various optional blade profiles, from 6 teeth (coarse cutting) to 14 teeth (finishing).

Three usage profiles:

  1. Small mechanical workshop: Ideal for batch work on mild steel and stainless steel, with daily output of up to 50–80 cuts. Speed control allows cycle times to be optimised.

  2. Metalworking joinery: Perfect for working on pipes, angles and profiles. The adjustable vice adapts the machine to complex workpieces and irregular shapes.

  3. Metal craftsman workshop: Effective for prototyping and small series, with versatility across materials and cutting profiles thanks to the three available speeds.

Positioning compared with the digital version (MBSD 116): The MBS 116 keeps fully mechanical control, ensuring maximum ease of operation and minimal maintenance. The MBSD 116 version adds a digital display and progressive speed control for those requiring greater precision in more complex applications.

After-sales support: Krollit ensures spare parts availability, preventive maintenance and technical advice for optimising the machine according to specific customer applications.

Who it is suitable for

Profile Sector Cutting volumes Materials Main advantages
Small workshop Mechanical/metalworking 30–80 cuts/day Mild steel, stainless steel Adjustable speed, short cycle, manual operation
Metalworking joinery Window and door frames, profiles 10–40 cuts/day Pipes, angles, profiles Adjustable vice, 45–90° swivel, controlled finish
Metal craftsman Workshop, prototyping 5–20 cuts/day Special alloys, stainless steel Material versatility, simple mechanical control

Not suitable for:

  • Very high-speed industrial production (>500 cuts/day)
  • Environments requiring automation and digital integration
  • Cutting very hard cast iron, which would require a lower speed not available
  • Thicknesses greater than 140 mm in rectangular configuration

Frequently asked questions

Which materials can I cut with the Güde MBS 116? The machine is ideal for mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other non-ferrous alloys. It is not recommended for very hard cast iron without a very low speed. The choice of blade, including the number of teeth, determines the cutting quality on each material.

What is the difference between the three blade speeds? The three speeds (21, 30, 44 m/min) allow the speed to be adapted to the material: mild steel and soft alloys require higher speeds; stainless steel and thick aluminium often perform better at 21–30 m/min to control heat and finish.

Can I use blades with a different number of teeth? Yes, but they must comply with the standard dimensions 1640×13×0.65 mm. 6-tooth blades are suitable for fast cutting, while 14-tooth blades are suitable for fine finishing. Krollit provides advice on choosing the best blade for the application.

How is routine maintenance carried out? Monthly check of blade tension, lubrication of bearings with specific grease, and cleaning of the vice. Annual servicing is recommended at a Krollit service centre. Moving parts have a long service life if kept clean.

What is the operating noise level? Approximately 80–85 dB(A) during cutting. Hearing protection is recommended in continuous working environments.

Is the saw transportable? Yes, the integrated transport trolley with 2 wheels allows movement inside the workshop. For vehicle transport, we recommend removing the trolley and using dedicated packaging. Weight: 48.3 kg.

Do I need to recalibrate anything after purchase? The machine arrives calibrated. On arrival, check blade tension and vice flatness. Krollit provides a first start-up checklist with the manual.

What are the delivery times? Standard delivery time is 5–7 working days for warehouse orders. Contact Krollit for availability and delivery confirmation. Consignment stock delivery may be possible by negotiation.
