Description
We supply this blade in STANDARD and PROFI quality. The STANDARD variant is made of carbon tool steel; a clear lacquer layer is used as rust protection, which should be removed before the first use of this blade. The PROFI variant is made of tool steel alloy, which guarantees the best durability and sharpness of the blade. The PROFI blade is oiled and hermetically sealed in foil.

Frequently Asked Questions
Narrow planer blade 27 mm — for which processing step is it used?
This blade is for planing narrow edges, strips, and profiles with a reduced width (27 mm) where a wide blade would not be controllable. The 27 mm width is specific for working on thin strips and profiles.
STANDARD vs PROFI quality — which one to choose?
The STANDARD quality is made of carbon steel with clear anti-rust paint — remove the coating before use. Cheaper than the PROFI version; suitable for occasional use or on softwoods.
How and how often should this blade be sharpened?
The blade is sharpened with the Bernardo planer knife sharpener (HMS 600 or PHMS 630 A), which ensures a constant sharpening angle across the entire width of the blade. The sharpening frequency depends on the intensity of use and the type of wood: for hardwoods (oak, beech) every 2–4 weeks; for softwoods every 4–8 weeks. Signs of needing sharpening: planed surface with burns or longitudinal streaks.
