What type of glue does it use and how long does it take to heat up?
All Bernardo edge banders use EVA hot melt granular glue dissolved in the heated tank. Heating time is typically 4–8 minutes. Keep the glue at the correct temperature for the edge type: standard PVC 140–160°C, ABS 160–180°C, thick edges 180–200°C. Replacement EVA granular glue available from Krollit.
What edge thicknesses are compatible?
PEB edge banders work with edges from 0.3 to 3.0 mm. DR and EBM edge banders accept edges from 0.4 mm up to 3.0 mm typically, with feed speed adaptable to thickness. For edges over 3 mm or solid wood edges, specialized equipment is required.
How do you clean the glue tank?
While the glue is still hot (never cold): empty the tank with a suitable scraper, then wipe residue with absorbent paper while the tank is still hot. Do not use water. If the glue has hardened cold, restart the machine until the glue softens and proceed with cleaning while the machine is hot.
