What they are used for
Table inserts close the opening around the oscillating spindle — each spindle diameter requires its corresponding insert. An incorrectly sized insert leaves excessive play around the spindle which causes: chips and sawdust to fall under the table, small pieces to get stuck, and uneven sanding at the edges of the hole. Replace the inserts when they are worn or scratched.
