Who uses the Bernardo KPE 400 and what for
A machine designed for steel fabricators, workshops and businesses that alternate several finishing operations on the same workpiece. It combines sanding, deburring and polishing at one station: the Ø 400 mm disc works flat surfaces, the 350 mm round wire brush removes surface rust, paint and cutting burrs, while optional discs and polishing pastes achieve finishes up to mirror gloss. One machine for three operations reduces workshop footprint and simplifies spare parts management. The side-closed guard reduces spark scatter.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the soft and hard polishing disc?
The soft disc, supplied as standard, removes material faster and suits more aggressive work. The hard disc keeps its shape better over time and is preferable for finer, more uniform finishes.
For general professional use the soft disc is the standard choice. Both are 400 x 50 mm with a 32 mm bore; Krollit technical service is available at +39 0825-1494022 for selection by material.
Can I use the KPE 400 to mirror-polish without a felt disc?
No. To achieve a mirror finish you need felt discs and polishing pastes, available as optional accessories. The standard disc and brush are abrasive and do not produce the final polish.
The machine is set up to mount polishing discs with a 32 mm bore. Krollit can indicate the compatible discs and pastes according to the material to be treated.
Do I need to connect an extractor?
Strongly recommended. Disc and brush generate fine metal dust that rises into the air; without extraction the operator inhales it continuously. The two Ø 50 mm outlets are designed for linking to an external extraction system.
Complete dust containment is achieved only with the extractor connected. The optional UGA 2 base stand with integrated extraction is available; alternatively Krollit can indicate compatible extraction units.
Does the machine generate vibration?
The induction motor and ball bearings favour quiet running and reduced vibration during work. The side-closed guard also reduces spark scatter.
To contain residual vibration, the machine should be fixed to a stable bench or base stand. On light or unsecured bases vibration tends to increase; the optional model G base stand is available.
How do service and spare parts work in Italy?
