Güde GFLS 1700 4-in-1 Petrol Leaf Blower
The GFLS 1700 4-in-1 is a professional petrol leaf blower designed for large areas: 3.1 kW petrol engine with continuous power, self-propelled drive, massive 150 L collection bag, 4 integrated functions and complete independence from electric cables.
Powerengine S 515 V 4-stroke petrol engine (CORE DIFFERENTIATOR): 173 cm³ displacement, constant 3.1 kW (4.2 hp) output, max speed 3400 rpm, standard petrol with no additives, 10W40 engine oil, 1.5 l tank with approx. 2–3 hours of continuous runtime. UNLIKE ELECTRIC BLOWERS: petrol delivers 100% stable power (no voltage drop during long cycles), continuous 6–8 hour work cycles without motor overheating and complete mobility (no dependence on electrical cables, works in remote, mountainous areas or where no power socket is available). Petrol is the STANDARD PROFESSIONAL CHOICE for continuous areas over 1500 m².
Self-propelled rear-wheel drive: disengageable fluid transmission, operating speed 2.8 km/h. The operator guides the blower using the ergonomic handle instead of pushing it manually over large areas. 250 mm rear wheels and 200 mm front wheels allow movement on uneven ground such as grass, gravel and muddy lawns.
4 integrated functions: vacuuming (collects dry leaves in the large 150 L bag), blowing (144 km/h air speed moves wet leaves and piles), sweeping (integrated brush roller cleans dirty surfaces), shredding (reduces collected leaf volume 5× for composting). One machine replaces 4 separate tools. The 150 L bag provides maximum capacity for 4–6 hour cycles without emptying (compared with 35 L portable blowers requiring 4–5 fills for the same area).
Air flow rate 2000 m³/h: blowing speed 144 km/h, 2.5 m hose Ø 90 mm. In practice, the machine draws air from a wide area through the long hose and collects material in the large 150 L bag. Cleans 1500–2000 m² surfaces in a single 3–4 hour cycle.

Frequently asked questions
1. Is the 3.1 kW petrol output higher than that of the previous electric blowers?
Yes and no: the type of power is different. The 3.1 kW petrol engine delivers continuous power with no voltage drop, while the electric model has a 3000 W peak rating. Petrol advantages: complete autonomy (no cable), long uninterrupted cycles (no motor overheating) and versatility in mountains or remote areas. Electric advantage: quieter operation and zero exhaust emissions. For continuous cleaning of 1500–2000 m² areas, petrol is the optimal choice.
2. Is the 2.8 km/h drive speed suitable for car parks and large surfaces?
Yes. 2.8 km/h is a standard cleaning speed: the operator walks alongside the blower, controls direction and working width and supervises the process. The speed is not a limitation; it is a controlled working pace. On uneven surfaces such as gravel, grass or broken concrete, the 250 mm rear wheels and 200 mm front wheels help the machine move smoothly.
3. What does disengageable fluid transmission mean?
Fluid transmission: a hydraulic system transfers engine power to the wheels through oil pressure, with no conventional mechanical gear train and less operating noise. Disengageable means the operator can switch off the drive and control the blower without powered wheel movement, for example during initial blowing work.
4. How heavy is the 150-litre bag when full?
Dry autumn leaves: ~40 kg per litre = 150 L × 0.4 = 60 kg total for a full bag (heavy, requiring 2 operators to empty). Wet leaves after rain: ~70 kg per litre = 150 L × 0.7 = 105 kg (very heavy). The bag is supported by the machine rather than carried on the shoulder, and the design facilitates emptying by tilting it.
5. How does the integrated sweeping function work together with blowing?
The sweeping roller is mounted underneath/at the front of the blower. While the machine blows leaves, the roller simultaneously brushes asphalt or concrete. The 2.8 km/h powered movement enables automatic sweeping during blowing, so the operator does not need extra movements. The result is asphalt cleared of leaves and brushed free of dust in one cycle.
6. What runtime does the 1.5-litre petrol tank provide?
At medium load (blowing + drive), the 3.1 kW engine consumes approximately 0.5–0.7 l/hour. A 1.5 l tank therefore provides around 2–3 hours of continuous runtime. For a 2000 m² cycle lasting about 2 hours, roughly half a tank is used. For daily cycles, check fuel requirements and keep a petrol can available if necessary.
7. Is petrol-engine maintenance complicated?
Basic maintenance: change the oil every 100 hours (about a 10-minute procedure), service the air filter every 200 hours and replace the spark plug every 500 hours (about €5). Before winter storage, use a petrol stabilizer in the tank. During the working season, no special maintenance is required. With scheduled maintenance, the Güde 4-stroke engine is designed for long, reliable work cycles.
