QKG 100 Inspection and Grinding Vice — how does it differ from a standard milling vice?

QGG/QKG precision vices have ground support surfaces with parallelism and flatness <0.005 mm — necessary for grinding (where the workpiece must be perfectly parallel to the grinding wheel) and for high-precision dimensional measurements (where the vice must not introduce errors). Standard milling vices have tolerances of 0.02–0.05 mm: sufficient for milling but not for grinding. Jaw width ? mm mm.

Are magnetic jaw bodies used with these vices?

Yes — QGG/QKG precision vices with optional magnetic bases are used on surface grinders with magnetic tables. The vice is placed on the magnetic table which clamps it during grinding — no bolts to tighten that could distort the workpiece. For grinders without a magnetic table, the vices are mechanically secured via the side slots. Customer support available in Italian.
